The lab is designed to cater to the needs of students undergoing training on the steady state responses of electrical circuits and the measuring techniques during the third Semester. It has additional facilities for Energy Meter Testing & Calibration Setup.
Power Electronics LabThe Power electronics lab is well equipped to offer final year student project on power electronics applications to energy conversion. The major equipment include Power Semiconductor Devices, Integrated Power Modules, Control Modules, DSP Trainer kits for working with IPM modules, Data Acquisition cards, Power quality study instruments, Work bench with both DC and isolated AC power supplies etc. It is also equipped with the Simulation Environment of MATLAB toolboxes option.
Microprocessors & Microcontroller LabThe students undergo training on the programming and also interfacing different microprocessors and micro-controllers. The facilities in the lab are 8085, 8086, 8051 trainer kits, Logic Analyzers, Keil code development tools, TMS320C24X EVM, DSK, TI code composer studio etc. Simulation software including Mat lab Simulink are also available.
Control Systems LabThe Control Systems Lab has facilities to derive the transfer function, frequency response and parameters of DC Servomotor, AC Servomotor, DC Generator, DC Motor, Stepper motor etc. . . . It is also equipped with the Simulation Environment of MATLAB toolboxes option.
Electrical Machines (AC & DC) LabElectrical Machinery Lab is mainly dedicated for undergraduate student. This lab provides the students with experimental verification of the theoretical concepts studied in the two courses, Electrical Machines- I and Electrical machines- II. Major equipments include DC Motors, DC Generators, Synchronous Motor, Alternator, Transformer, Induction Motor etc. This laboratory makes contribution towards final year project work in the area of Electrical Machines & Drives and also for consultancy services of testing and rating of 3 phase induction motors, capacitors and transformers.
Measurements &Instrumentation LabThis lab aims to train the students in the measurement of resistance, inductance, torque and angle, displacement and pressure transducers of AC bridges, DC bridges, Instrumentation amplifiers, A/D and D/A converters, Calibration of single-phase energy meter, Calibration of current transformer, Measurement of three phase power and power factor instruments.
Power System Simulation LabThis laboratory has been equipped with internationally accepted simulation software AU power simulators and MiPower. These soft-wares have been installed to execute the programs on calculation of line parameters, z-bus and y-bus calculation, AC &DC load flow and stability analysis.
- The department has conducted National level Symposiums and workshops.
- There are many opportunities for students to participate in technical activities through technical clubs such as IEEE student branch and ISTE.
- Various events pertaining to science and technology are conducted regularly by these clubs.
- Students are taken to the industry as a part of the technical tour.
- The department organizes guest lectures with the help of professors from various educational institutions and experts from industry
