The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year of 2001.

To create a center of excellence in ECE for imparting technical expertise of higher order and to provide career focused programs to provide globally competent professionals.

To provide high quality accessible and Industry interactive academic program.

To promote professional leadership through teaching and learning excellence.

To excel in new technical aspects through enhancement of research activities.

1. The department has been certified with ISO 9001 – 2000 in the year of 2002.
2. The certification has been updated as 9001 – 2008 in the year of 2009.
3. The Department faced its first NBA inspection for accreditation on June 2009 and 5 year accreditation status has been proposed.(Status Awaited)
4. The Department is a Recognized R&D centre for Anna University of Tech, Chennai to carry out the Ph.D courses.
5. The Department has IEEE Student Chapter.
6. The Department so far Conducted One National Level Conference (2007) and 5 State Level Symposium.
7. The Department has conducted International Conference on 4G Wireless Communication on March 2011 inaugurated by DR.AMARA AMARA, Head, IEEE Society and Student Exchange Programme, France.
8. The Department has signed MOU with DR.AMARA AMARA for Student Exchange with France Universities.
